NATURE EXPRESSED THROUGH A WATCH
An iconic design, noble materials, a poetry found nowhere else: the Since 4.6 Billion Years embodies the essence of timeless luxury. Born from the encounter between horological precision and the beauty of natural forces, this timepiece roots nature itself within an object that transcends the notion of a traditional watch.
THE ORIGIN OF TIME
Its enigmatic name pays homage to the age of the solar system, 4.6 billion years ago. Since then, every Augé has drawn upon natural phenomena to reveal the time, without batteries or perishable mechanical parts. A time filled with meaning, echoing the intimate values of its wearer.
HOROLOGY, SCIENCE AND NATURE
The Since 4.6 Billion Years translates into horological language an astronomical phenomenon observed since the birth of the solar system, 4.6 billion years ago.
As the Earth rotates on its axis, it creates the illusion of a moving sun along the horizon. In reality, the sun appears to advance by 15 degrees per hour, an unchanging rhythm since the beginning of time.
The founding idea of the Since 4.6 Billion Years was to recreate this natural reading of time, not through the shadow of a sundial, but through a hand, as on a watch, capable of indicating true solar time and adjustable to time zones.
For this, a fixed point was required: the Earth itself.
Its molten core, composed of iron and nickel, generates a magnetic field through the dynamo effect, a shield that has protected our planet for billions of years. This field forms the magnetic poles, stable and universal reference points.
On this natural architecture, combining magnetic physics and celestial observation, Augé has built its way of reading time.
The hand, derived from a high-precision compass accurate to one-third of a degree, measures the angle between the sun and the magnetic pole to reveal the hour engraved on the bezel.
INITIATION TO THE READING OF EQUINOCTIAL TIME
Placed flat on the wrist and oriented toward the sun, the watch enigmatic until that moment for the uninitiated comes to life. The compass needle aligns with the poles and points to the hour on the bezel.
The Northern Hemisphere bezel indicates the time over 24 hours, in two twelve-hour cycles. Disconcerting at first, time moves counterclockwise, following the course of the sun from east to west.
On the bezel, symbols: a crescent moon for unmeasurable nighttime hours, and a full disc representing the sun for measurable daytime hours.
The compass, a mechanism of remarkable precision designed by the Finnish navigation specialist Suunto, is described as global. It functions anywhere on the blue planet, revealing to the wearer of the Since 4.6 B.Y.R.S. the time, wherever they explore north of the equator.

ETERNITY AND HERITAGE
Eternal, the dream of every watchmaker, and one that no mechanical watch had ever achieved. The Maison Augé has done so, not by seeking to dominate the laws of physics, but by showing humility before the power of nature. Not by trying to control it, for none can, but by accompanying it, offering an instrument through which nature can express itself freely. Time on an Augé will be read until the final light of the sun.
SAVOIR-FAIRE
Every detail of the Since 4.6 B.Y.R.S. has been conceived with precision and care, from the selection of materials to the distinctive design of the case, giving it its instantly recognizable, iconic presence.
Grade 5 titanium
(Ti-6Al-4V), an alloy of 90 percent titanium, 6 percent aluminum, and 4 percent vanadium, was chosen for its exceptional mechanical and physical properties: lightness, rigidity, and extreme resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and thermal variation.
Of exceptional durability, biocompatible and inalterable, Grade 5 titanium embodies Augé’s desire to create a watch built to endure for generations. Machined with multiple surface finishes, it gives the case a depth of texture where light reveals its many nuances.
Its magnetic neutrality ensures that it does not interfere with the integrated compass or with natural fields. This stability guarantees a precise and consistent reading of solar time.
The Art of Light on Enamel
The sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating, offers perfect transparency, allowing sunlight to reflect off the enamel dial with its brushed-sun finish, revealing a unique luminous character.
Excellence in Leatherwork
The alligator leather straps lend the ensemble timeless sophistication, faithful to the codes of fine watchmaking.

DESIGNED TO OUTLIVE ITS WEARERS
The Since 4.6 B.Y.R.S. embraces the philosophy of ultra low-tech as the ultimate guarantee of reliability. Its mechanism, materials, and assembly, reduced to their purest state, ensure extreme durability, infinite reparability, and resistance to the passage of time.
AN ICONIC DESIGN, A SYMBOL OF NATURE AND TIME
The Since 4.6 B.Y.R.S. offers the singular sensation of wearing nature on one’s wrist. A timepiece that embodies the bond between humankind and the elements, an object destined to outlast us.
A TIMELESS LEGACY
Its aesthetic was conceived to remain intelligible through the centuries. Centuries from now, in the quiet of an attic, an Augé could still be understood without instruction. Its Roman numerals, inherited from Antiquity, preserve their intuitive reading across millennia.
GUIDED BY LIGHT
The solar emblem of Augé, positioned at noon, draws inspiration from the Egyptian hieroglyphs devoted to the sun, inviting the wearer to orient the watch toward the light to reveal the hour.
OUR PLANET
At its center, the engraved Earth covers the compass and echoes the magnetic field, while the bezel’s symbols distinguish day from night. An iconic and intuitive design, conceived to be understood far beyond our time.
